Expo 67 News Articles

"People  always think of Expo 67 as a groovy, sexy, fun time, but it was also a defining moment in Canada's cultural and political history....That event seems to have offered a space in which to imagine a radically different vision of the future than the one we have inherited."

-- Professor Susan Schuppli, University of Western Ontario, Visual Arts Program,
April 23, 2004, quoted from The London Free Press.

While Canada was celebrating its Centennial in 1967, the Canadian Press was marking their 50th year in operation. First Day of Issue envelopes were released to commemorate the occasion.

Today, the Canadian Press continues its operations with its French counterpart called "La Press Canadienne."  It is a not-for-profit agency comprising of 250 journalists. The Canadian Press provides 24-hour coverage of stories that are happening right across Canada. Their service reaches 100 newspapers and over 500 radio and television stations.
