The statue of Copernicus
The statue of Copernicus was originally located in front
of the Man the Explorer pavilion and then it moved after Expo to its
current location in front of the Montréal Planitarium. That building is to
be demolished in the next couple of years, to be replaced by a new
planetarium next to the Olympic Stadium where the Montréal Biodome is
located across from the Botanical Gardens, the idea being to locate all of
these city-owned scientific buildings in the same neighborhood. The statue was originally donated by the Canadian Polish Congress. |
