A view of the Kaskawulsh Glacier en route to Divide. The Kaskawulsh is about 50 miles long, and 4 miles wide at this fork. Some glaciers in the St. Elias mountains are far bigger even than this. In mountain flying, pilots usually follow valleys and glaciers rather than crossing ridges and peaks.
